This is Horror Frog Princess, and she's part of an art trade with ~sweet-nymph! This character belongs completely and totally to ~sweet-nymph, so no stealing, okay?
I thought about making her totally anthropomorphized like Keroro Gunsou, but I thought it was slightly more creepy to retain some amphibian characteristics. And check out her little green-blooded, wriggling lunch that's she's masticating so tidily!
~sweet-nymph, I wasn't sure if you wanted her eyes sewed shut or no eyes at all. I can change it easily. She just seemed more macabre this way.
Non-repro blue pencils, .5mm HB pencils, and Photoshop.
*soopah happy giggles of non-chocolate-induced rapture*
This is fanTASTIC! I love the dress, yes I did want her eyes sewn shut, the fly is so perfect, and the tiara is awesome! You made her look cute and feminine and amphibian all at once. ME LUV U LONG TIME!

It's better than I ever dreamed! I need to work on... it was Jim, right?
Blah, i've been getting inspired for my own character, Nathan, for the past few days. What's Jim like, anyway, personality-wise? I don't wanna ruin the alien boi.

This deviation gives a pretty good idea about how he feels about everything, in general (he's the guy with the ponytail on the far left. He is going to gradually develop a very tumultuous relationship with Zeke Cymbelene, the girl in the center.)
He is standoffish, scholarly, a bit of an escapist--he retreats into his computers and books so he doesn't have to deal with people. He is mostly quiet and thoughtful, with a sardonic twist--he unleashes the sarcasm when he's feeling particularly nettled. He's easily annoyed, but when he feels like it, he can exercise incredible restraint. I think his element is metal, or ice. He's steely, cagey, a tough nut to crack. But he's also capable of warmth and tenderness. He's a Byronic kind of hero--all flawed and crazy, yet appealing.
He doesn't like meeting new people because they disappoint him. He's probably had some trauma in his past--he's overcome most of it through the support of people who genuinely care for him, but it still colors his decisions and personality.
Another pretty good vignette is here. His first interaction with Zeke Cymbelenedidn't go down so well. She's impulsive and temperamental and loud. He's quiet and likes stuff like, y'know, thinking. In a bizarre twist, they're eventually going to have to work together and somehow coexist without wanting to kill each other. They're going to dislike each other for a long time before they can admit mutual respect.
But I think eventually they're going to begin to understand each other. Maybe even like each other.
Can you tell he's my favorite character? I'm my own fangirl. God, I'm a loser.

No worries. I'm a fan of all my characters. I even ship them, though scene-writer claims it's just part of the creative process. I still call it shipping!
Okay, thanks for the links, too. I might have made him like my own character, Nathan.
Yeah, he's nothing like Nathan.

OMG, you do that to your characters too? I could sit around all day writing little vignettes about them that I'll never actually use, throwing them into tempestuous relationships that will never actually happen, and basically tormenting them left and right! Muahahaha. My poor characters. I am not a benevolent goddess.

Usually I intend for them to end up canon, but for Maitown, I'm frankly not sure (save for Bobby and Nathan). Eh, maybe I'll just screw around with the readers and leave the shipping to THEM.

Hahahahah! Sometimes fans get WEIRD with 'ships. Some of my readers are reaaaaaaaaaaally gunning for a lesbian pairing that isn't going to happen (there will be a lesbian couple eventually, but it isn't the two characters they want.)
They also suggest that Lint--who is LITERALLY a blue piece of talking lint--should get jiggy with someone. The mind boggles. Readers is nuts.
But nah. All the suggestions of 'ships I've portrayed here are canon. Even the seemingly conflicting ones like this vs. this.
I also like to mess around with spoilers from the future. Do you ever get really into a manga or anime, and you find a site that's devoted to it and it has lots of artbook scans or promo pieces for the series, and half of the pieces are REALLY CATACLYSMIC or they portray characters interacting in ways they wouldn't in the series? Revolutionary Girl Utena is TERRRRRIBLE for this. Hell, so are half of the Sailor Moon artbook scans I've seen. (YES I'VE LOOKED FOR SAILORMOON ARTBOOK STUFF SHUTUP)
I dunno. I like my universe. I've created it, so now I'm going to play in it.

I'm not a huge naysayer of spoilers. I like to know what's gonna happen in movies and junk. Doesn't ruin it for ME.
Most of my random daydreams of my characters involve music. This week, an endless cycle of Nathan singing "I Touch Myself" on Karaoke night and giving Bobby dirty thoughts. Last week it was Jenny and Guy in a nonstop marathon of ballroom dancing. Next week, who knows?!
Hey, I like Sailor Moon. Until you get past the outer senshi. Then things just get confusing.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant.
